Leadership Team

As President and CEO of Detechtion Technologies^®, Chris Smith brings passion and experience to building teams, refining business plans, and assuring their execution. He is a technology entrepreneur who has founded, launched, and grown companies in partnership with private equity, venture capital, and private investors.

Chris brings over 20 years of executive experience in software, services, and international manufacturing to Detechtion^®. He has been active on numerous boards, including non-profits. He earned an Economics degree from Wake Forest University.

As the CTO of Detechtion Technologies^®, Virgil Haney leads the company’s strategic technology direction and R&D. Prior to joining Detechtion^®, he co-founded Enbase Energy Technology in 2009. An entrepreneur at heart, he also previously founded/co-founded several other startups.

Virgil brings over 25 years of executive experience in technology leadership to Detechtion^®. He earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and BA in Computer Science from Rice University.

Kirk leads Detechtion Technologies® business development, customer adoption, and marketing strategies. He is a seasoned, technical executive with a successful record of leading highly productive, world-class global sales teams with domain expertise in oil and gas, digital transformation, and value-added SaaS solutions.

Prior to joining Detechtion Technologies®, he has served as SVP for Palantir Solutions, IHS Markit, and several technology startups. An entrepreneur at heart, he enjoys professional speaking on sales and sales processes.

As the CFO of Detechtion Technologies^®, James Burns oversees the company’s financial, human resources, and supply chain activities. James joins Detechtion with a breadth of industry experience and a career spanning 20 years in consulting and audit. He provides a collaborative, but decisive, leadership approach to his financial, managerial, and strategic responsibilities.

Prior to joining Detechtion, he was a Director at WG Consulting providing financial advisory services to a diverse industry set. He earned an accounting degree from the University of Houston.

Shannon Hugetz is the Vice President of Product and Implementation Services. Shannon is a collaborative leader with 20+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.  She served as Vice President of Product Management at ROME Risk Management Software.  Shannon has spent her career with multiple talents between product management and services. She is passionate about client value-added solutions and focuses on the delicate balance between the delivery of great products coupled with outstanding, successful, and short-term implementations to solve real-world business problems.

Shannon holds a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Texas and an M.A. from Gallaudet University.

Frederic Dessureault is the Vice President of Services. He is responsible for the successful delivery and implementation of all Detechtion’s product lines. Frederic previously held technical and management roles at Schlumberger and Owens Corning.

Fred brings over 15 years of industry experience in several fields, including oil and gas production and services implementation. He earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from the École de technologie supérieure in Montreal, Canada and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
