Client Utilizes Enalysis™ to Increase Volumes on Main Gas Compressors Offshore

Offshore client requested that Detechtion Technologies analyze potential throughput available on 4 parallel Main Gas Compressors (4445 HP – 3 Stage) for gas lift operations in West Africa.

Opportunity Overview

Regular Enalysis™ reporting identified ‘Potential Production’ through horsepower & cylinder capacity availability. At that point, a Detechtion engineer proposed Optimized Loading Curves to the client to help raise the suction pressure on all 4 reciprocating compressors with a new suction pressure set-point. Increase in suction pressure will lead to increase gas throughput desired to meet the current demand for gas lift applications.

Results

After the changes were made, the client continued to run Enalysis™ reports to confirm all units were running within normal operating parameters, i.e. disch temps, horsepower, cylinder capacity, rod loads/reversals, and blowby (gas slippage). After the Detechtion engineer reviewed results with the client, the new set-point helped increase gas throughput by 5.7% which resulted in 4.172 MMscfd extra gas for enhanced oil recovery.

Detechtion Technologies is involved in the monitoring & optimization of reciprocating and screw compressors by improving asset utilization through the use of the Enalysis™ web solution.
